A washer can stop at the same point in the cycle for very different reasons. We follow the wash, drain and spin sequence instead of ordering a pump, lock or control just because an error code points in that direction.
Water on the floor? Stop the washer and shut off the water supply if the leak is active. If the tub is still full, do not force the door open or keep restarting the cycle.
Washer will not spin
If the machine cannot drain, lock the lid or door, balance the load or drive the basket correctly, the spin cycle may never get going.
Washer leaks water
We look at hoses, valves, pumps, door boots, tub seals, dispensers and the point in the cycle when the leak starts. Where the water shows up is only part of the clue.
Washer shakes or bangs
An unbalanced load can do it once. Repeated hard shaking can come from leveling, suspension, shock, basket, bearing or drive problems.

Washer Not Spinning? Check the Drain Side First
A washer that will not spin does not automatically have a bad motor. Many machines are designed to get the water out and confirm the lid or door is locked before they ramp up into a full spin.
If water is still sitting in the tub, the real problem may be a restricted drain hose, clogged filter, weak pump or another drain fault. If it drains normally, we move farther into the lock, balance and drive systems.
That order matters. Replacing the spin-related part before confirming drainage is an easy way to miss the actual failure.
