Dryer Not Heating: Bad Heater or Airflow Problem?
No heat does not automatically mean the heating element is bad. On an electric dryer, the drum can still turn when only part of the 240-volt supply is reaching the machine. On a gas dryer, the drum can turn even when the burner never lights.
And when a thermal fuse opens, replacing the fuse without checking why the dryer got too hot can bring the same problem right back.
That is why we check power, airflow and the heat circuit before throwing a heater at the machine.
If the dryer heats but every load takes much longer than it used to, mention that when you book. Weak airflow can look like a heating problem even when the heater is working.
