Explorium – Denton Children’s Museum is an educational children’s museum located in Denton, TX. It gives kids the opportunity to learn through hands-on exhibits, arts & crafts, music & movement, storytelling and science investigations.
The museum is open 6 days a week – Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
There are no admission fees for this facility although donations are welcome. Children under 1 get in for free!
Although there are no required activities to do here it is highly recommended to sign up for some of the ongoing programs such as the Science Club (for kids aged 4-8), Toddler Tuesdays (every Tuesday morning for children aged 1-4) or the Drift Away program (for kids aged 5 and above).
You can start your visit by checking out most popular exhibits like the Mama & Me, Bugs!, Kidspace, Cyber Cafe, Dental Health Station or Computer Corner.
If your child is older than 8 explore more hands on activities featured in Kidspace II! Kaleidoscope, Glassblowing Studio or our Musical Instruments Exhibit are something you should not miss!
One of our personal favorites includes taking children to see Fish Hatchery – it shows kids how fish are born and grow up to be big fish that they know from home aquariums. Truly an educational experience for children!
Another fun activity is visiting our Veterinary Clinic – you get to explore the world of health care, go through nursing tools and experience what it feels like to be a veterinarian.
Last but certainly not least mention should be made about Story Lab which is really something special. Through this program kids aged 4-8 can delve into different fairy tales with interesting characters by the light of Denton Moon! This makes great family outing especially if accompanied by younger brothers or sisters!
